05.01.2018 New pilot plant for surface modification at Sigrist
In the next weeks, our new pilot plant (Frida) will be connected to the grid. After the planning phase, the line for surface modification of titanium and stainless steel parts has been realized by manufacturer WalterLemmen.
After the cleaning step, processes for activation, etching, color and black anodization of titanium materials are available. In addition, we will also electropolish parts in this line. We will start with stainless steel, but will also optionally offer a process for electropolishing of titanium. The system is designed for small to medium series. The main focus is on medical technology, but we also see applications for electronic components and applications for measuring and control technology The active processes are – where necessary – heated and / or cooled. The rectifiers are designed to apply up to 150 volt for the black anodizing process of titanium. The system has all necessary safety features and is fully integrated into our media supply and disposal.
We look forward to the extended product range in addition to the galvanic coating and to your inquiries as well.
20.12.16 Donation for a good purpose!
Already for many years we refrained from giving christmas presents to our business partners and instead made a donation to the inclusion department for disabled sports being part of the 1. CFR Pforzheim e.V.. We hope again having acted in your senses and thank you very much for the good and pleasant cooperation over the past year. On this way we wish you and your families a merry christmas and a peaceful and healthy 2017.
19.12.16 Moody year end
This year our “christmas party” of a slightly different kind took place in the Alpenzauber Urweisse Hütt´n in Pforzheim. Music by a DJ and après-ski-atmosphere is the key of this party location be opened from November to mid of January. After a joint dinner we had a lot of fun on the dance floor. The very good mood led to the end of the evening a little bit later than in previous years…
18.10.16 Ralf Kälber strengthens the Sigrist Team
Since October 1-st Ralf Kälber is the head of technology at Sigrist Metallveredelung GmbH and is, amongst others, responsible for the areas of technology, technology development, electronic data processing, costing and sales.
After an apprenticeship in the electroplating industry and studying materials science at the University of Applied Sciences in Aalen he worked for many years as an account manager at the Lea Ronal / Rohm and Haas company. Since 2009 Ralf Kälber has been a sales manager at The Dow Chemical Company
responsible for the Interconnect Technologies unit, first regionally, since 2014 as the sales director for Europe. The portfolio covered surface treatment processes in the areas of printed circuit boards, electronic and industrial finishing, photovoltaics, plating on plastic and tinning of steel strip in the steel mills industry.
We are pleased that we were able to gain an experienced and competent colleague, wish him a smooth start in our company and are looking forward to a good cooperation.
2016-07-15 A birthday + a great location + many nice guests = an unforgettable event!
50 years are almost a reason to celebrate and for this occasion Eric Sigrist invited his family, friends and long term companions to the idyllic courtyard “Eißler Steinbachhof” located in Gündelbach. It was a wonderful evening at best weather and all that goes with it: culinary delights, refreshing beverages and a unique, moody atmosphere.
A big contribution to the success of this great event has also been accomplished by the employees of the Steinbachhof, Kreschi Zupic with his catering team and the photographers Lina Berber and Dennis Wendlinger from Studio Gieske. We would like to say thank you to all of them for this exceptional commitment.
2016-05-18 – Visit us at the O&S show!
Every two years it is fair time for us and therefore we would like to invite you to the O & S show 2016 – the international trade fair for surface treatments and coatings – again. This year the fair takes place from May 31 to June 2 at the Stuttgart exhibition fairground located at the airport from 9 am to 6 pm.
Beside plating technology and services around surface treatment the fair offers a couple of other focal points – and of course an excellent opportunity for interesting discussions, exchanging ideas and the latest information from the world of coating.
You will find us in Hall 9 / booth B35. We look forward to see many familiar faces and new contacts!
2016-04-04 – Completely detached…
…we are in no way – even if you could lose a bit traction given the fact that some of our electroforming components recently are traveling in space. These cold shields have been integrated by one of our long term customers in 6 infrared detectors which in turn are an elementary part of the Sentinel-3A. This “high tech Ocean Guardian” is part of the European Commission and the European Space Agency ESA Copernicus program. Next to the ocean observing this unit has the task to monitor global land surfaces. This will help to better understand the effects of global climate change.
That we are all very proud to be a – albeit small – part of this important European mission, we do not want to keep silent at this point. Finally it is a nice confirmation that high tech above all made by Sigrist even in space is successful.
For more detailed information on our electroforming products please contact Rainer “Major Tom” Schwarz under +49 7231 / 56619-12.
2016-02-08 – Virus by mouse click
Last week it got us unfortunately hit the first time! Despite latest antivirus software, our computer has been infected by an extremely harmful virus, a so-called ransomware, which has renamed or encrypted a total of 57,000 files and generated more than 100,000 new files placed on the network. Due to a consistent data backup and tireless efforts provided by our service partner, we were able to work at any time and after a short period of time virus free again! It was also ensured that customer and supplier data neither have been lost nor passed outside our company.
But the incident demonstrated that despite all precautions and measures, there is actually no 100% security from hackers and user errors that cannot be completely ruled out. As the only consequence remains – not just for our staff – a highly sensitive handling of e-mails with unknown origin, suspicious attachments or executable files.
2014-03-11 – Busy month of trade fairs
This year, we will be present, with our own stand, at two fairs at the exhibition center
near Stuttgart airport:
|For the first time, we are participating in the Medtec Europe from June 3rd – June 5th, a trade fair for the entire medical technology industry, where more than 900 exhibitors will be expected.|
|At the O&S, however, we have regularly been participants since the opening in 2008. This year as well, we are looking forward to many new contacts, interesting talks and important information about the current trends in the surface treatment technology. The O&S takes place from June 24th – June 26th.
We will be pleased to welcome plenty of visitors at our stand, and of course, we will personally invite you again in due time before the start of each fair.
2013-04-18 – Conflict metal materials
Sigrist Metallveredelung GmbH is fully aware of the complexity of problems that occur with the mining of metals, gold and metallic tin, for example, in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), where the support of inhuman working conditions and conflicts, similar to civil war, can be promoted and funded. As the supply chain, however, is rather complex, the exact origin of the materials supplied can unfortunately not be asserted at 100%.
We and our suppliers are, therefore, concertedly anxious to secure that any gold coming from the Congo cannot find path into our production.
